Well, yessterday the wife took me on a little cruise down to the gun range. I wanted to try the last KEL-TEC 9mm Luger pistol out one more time. If it hung up or misfired I would be getting rid of the critter in a heart beat. ;)

Well, I stared out firing a full mag of 7 shots in about 5 seconds using Blazer 9mm Luger ammo in 115 FMJ. It went through the first mag with flying colors. Then we got to the 4th magazine full and on the second shot, I had a failure to eject an empty shell. Ummmmmmmm not again I told myself.

However, the wife reminded me of what the manual says about NOT letting the trigger come all the way forward when firing the little pocket pistol. This will cause a JAM session to happen.

YES, this jam was do to operator error!!! So I slowed down the pace and proceeded to put another 100 rds through the little pistol with NO PROBLEMS.

I was shooting at 6 and 12 feet for the most part, drawing the pistol fast out of my right front pocket and double tapping two targets 4 feet apart. The accuracy was very good with this little pistol. I managed to keep all shots within the inner circle of a 9 inch pie plate. Now that means a 7 inch circle folks!

I then dropped back to 21 ft and fired 7 shots at he pie plate, hitting it 5 times and missing with 2 shots by one to two inches. This was not a slow fire but more in the area of 7 shots in 5 seconds. We went out another 10 ft and I shot 3 times at the target hitting it twice and mising once to the left by 1.5 inches. I'll stick to things up close and personal with this little fire cracker of a pistol, I see a lot better at 6 to 15 ft range anyway.

So I guess I'll keep this little pistol for those days it reaches 99 degrees and I must be out and about with my shorts on sometime next summer perhaps.

The trigger can't come all the way forward during firing or the gun will malfunction? And under the stress of a gunfight while most likely moving and/or physically fighting an attacker a person is supposed to remember that and prevent that from happening? Not for me brother, I'd ditch that POS.

MOGC, my thoughts exactly. Too much for my little pea brain.

That handgun would be gone as unreliable. Sounds like a design problem. All the best...

MOGC....I knew I would wake you up out of that rocking chair on the porch with my report!!! YEP, now that is what the factory folks claim in the manual but I just can't bet my life on whim that I myself would not do so in a street confrontation. It has only happened to me once but I was concentrating on letting my trigger finger contact the forward position of the trigger guard everytime out the gate, after the first JAM session.

A BIG NO!!! I am not keeping this little pocket hugger on my person. It will be traded down the road for something more practical you betcha. I been thinking real hard about one of those GLOCKS in a 45acp, especially since I got over 5,000 cases downstairs to reload.

Well, I have taken my turn on the merry-go-round and it is time to get off and once again go with what I brought to the dance in the first place. I truely do like the 45acp, especially up close and personal, what it was meant for duty wise. We shall count our marbles and play another day I suppose. I never did care much for wearing "shorts" in the first place. I like wearing my suits in the fall and winter months, nothing like a pair of pearl handled 45acp to keep a body warm in cold weather!!!;) :D :D
