Any new hunting knives waiting for use this season? I haven't bought anything new in the last few months but during my annual knife cleaning and maintenance, I found a couple in the safe that I haven't used in years and liked back then. One is a cocobolo-handled drop point of about 4 inches made out of A2 by a fellow named Huey. A great cutter, although it does tend to stain fairly quickly. I just Flitzed it back to clean.
Anything you're anxiously looking forward to using this Fall?

My daughter (and newest hunting buddy) is now 10 years old and will be getting to carry the pink Kabar folder I just bought her.
I worry about her cutting herself, but I suppose using a knife with instruction is the only way to learn just like we all did.
Otherwise, my same old knives should get plenty workout.

Sounds great. Ten should be old enough to safely use a knife---especially since she's a girl and they tend to be a bit less wild with a blade at that age.

Exactly what I thought about boys and girls. My 14 year old son got the same knife in brown, but I never would have let him have it at 10. Course, all kids are different.
