I've been overdoing it lately outside. Running back and forth to the ranch, working in the yard, even a couple of fishing trips. I haven't been paying much attention to the heat (been 100 or more for weeks now) until today. I was out on the lake all day yesterday and although I was under the bimini top and hydrating all day I must have really gotten over heated. The wind did not blow at all during the day and I was pouring sweat all day. I must have drank 8 bottles of water and several 7-ups but it must not have been enough.

Today on a simple trip to Victoria with #1 wife The effects caught up with me. We had eaten lunch and had stopped at a car lot to look at some vehicles. It must have been 140 on that lot. The damn salespeople wouldn't even come outside! After a few minutes I got sick, nauseated, and clammy. For the rest of the day, every time I got out in the sun or out of the AC I got sick again. It felt like a hammer was hitting me. I have always been a pretty rough and tumble kind of guy but a third grader could have kicked my butt in the sun today.

Watch that heat this Summer boys.

Well, I know who I'm voting for for "HuntAmerica Asshole of the year"! :D

It starts out at 70 here on a good day. The low for tonight is 76!

Ain't it great that we can say "asshole" here without being censored ? ;) Lows have been mid 40's-mid 50's here all week.

Only because it is in reference to an Honorary Title!

of course it could be that because the Democrats control the Three Branches of our Government, the word "Asshole" has become a common household term across America!

Patio thermometer was 78 at 7;00 A.M, 104 at 5:00 PM and 99 at 7:00 PM. I leave tomorrow for a weekend of camping, fishing and swimming at fayette County lake. First trip there.

Good luck on the fishing. I think I'm going to camp in the AC this weekend.

Want some cheese with that whine ;) ?

It's exactly 60* out right now, time to open the windows and cool of the house for the day. With double plank constructed walls, who needs A/C to keep cool..... :p

(Is this post worth at least 2 points for the HAAOTY award ???)

I don't know how you southern guys stand it? Dad had a condo out in Yuma and during the summer those people would not even come out of their houses until sundown. Sweatshirt and jeans is the uniform of the day lots of the year up here in the frozen north. With insulation, a snowblower and a 4wd, I can cope with the WI. weather a whole lot better than I could adapt to triple digit temperatures.

I was stationed about 30 miles north of Yuma for 3 years. I can tell you how the Yuma natives handle it. They have summer condos in Flagstaff!!! :D

That's one of the reasons why people aren't streaming out of this high-tax, bankrupt, overcrowded, crime-ridden, Left-controlled state: West LA was in the 70s today with a nice sea breeze. Just about perfect weather. I simply wish I could duplicate it in a better state.:(

Today(Sat) was a hot one. Couldn't nail shingles until about 4:30pm.

It's been a relatively cool spring and summer so far here in eastern NC. We've had some hot humid days but the wind has been friendly. Usually the wind falls out in mid July and it gets unpleasant for a few weeks. We'll see how it goes.
