I've been invited to do some urban deer hunting and I've got some questions. The spot is a long ridge between two hollows that are lined with homes of various sized yards. The houses seem to create 3 funnels and a friend would like me to set up on one.

If I'm watching someone's big screen would a blue tooth ear piece get me quality sound or does the home own have to be streaming movies for me to get it. Also, if I do a little warwalking with the mini laptop and find an open pipe I'll be able to keep up with friends on facebook. Does the glow from the screen in the evening impact deer movement around you?

These guys hunting this little property really do pretty good as there are some nice bucks in there. I'm told your hunt is over most mornings by 9 am and the evening hunt is usually only productive during the last 15 minutes as the deer move out early and wait til pretty late to head back in.

Hink not sure where Walt is but I would think just your movement using a lap top would be cought by deers eye sight, but why would you want to use one in the 1st place. If you have a nice buck run up on you while holding a LT O Well, Plus the possibility of dropping it. Being in your stand should not have any distraction for safety reasons.

Setting up on a funnel, just set up about 25 yards off the trail, I usually set up on the high side because the winds swirl a lot in those situations.
Broadcast a coffee can of corn just enough for smell.

LOL :D

For real, I found early morning a great time to hunt, and once the morning rush hour was over, the deer did move in the timber later in the day as the neighborhood was about as vacant and peaceful through the say as it is at 12 midnight.

The urban deer (some of them anyway) aren't quite as sharp, and there are more of them per sq/m, so hunts can be action packed.

Guys I was just playing about the electronic devices. It will be my first hunt that close to town, the interstate, etc. These guys already have ladder stands in place and I'll go wherever they place me. I was trying to have a little fun posting about the new setting and the "new" gadgets I could use.

Broadcast a half can [coffee] of corn out to 30-35 yards. if there in the area they will come.

That was pretty funny Hink, and has an element of truth. Whatcha need to do is get you one of those little black and white TV's and tune it to the station you're watching through the window. Then run an ear-bud wire from the TV in your pocket to your ear and you can hear the sound without having to mess with holding a screen in your hand, or have that nasty glow on your face that you're quite right about - it does give you away! :D

The deer do go nocturnal... after you kill 15 deer from the same stand they start looking up!
